Once again Showtech rose to the challenge, we were to transform a chimney tower in Ballarat into the art department's impression for a television commercial. The chimney was a baron red brick structure we were to add 2 balconies and a ladder all the way up the chimney for the "hero" to climb.
Peter Blackwood from "Rough side of the Pineapple" coordinated all the construction, design and engineering of the balconies, ladder, scenic elements and esthetics to meet the Korean Artists impression.
Showtech were engaged to install the structure, along with our team of riggers, we used a 50t mobile crane and 40m high cherry picker to reach the height of the chimney which was 40m high.
On shoot day Tiny was onsite to co-ordinate the cranes and cherry picker so as the DOP could get the desired shots, along with working with the stunt team.
As you can see, we hit the local media, both news paper and local 6 o'clock news.
It was great to work again with Compass Productions, Peter and all the crew, we look forward to the next challenge :-)
Yes Tiny was harnessed whilst up the chimney, he climbed to the top from the inside.
